Scarygirl coming to XBLA and PSN

SquareEnix have announced that a 3D Scarygirl platformer will be seeing a release on digital download platforms including XBLA, PSN and PC.

Based off of the Nathan Jurevicius graphic novel of the same name, this looks to be another fray into the weird crazy world of Scarygirl that very recently saw release on PSP minis. Developed by Tik Games, this digital download version appears to be a 2D side scrolling platformer and both screenshots and the trailer hint very much at Klonoa circular based platforms, so 3D environments interacting with a 2D based plane.

Scarygirl is a little stranger than your average small child, and she sports a tentacle and dresses like a pirate, (why wouldn’t you?) haunted by nightmares of a strange man she embarks on a quest with friends Blister the giant octopus and Bunniguru the kung-fu rabbit to get to the bottom of it.

As well as what looks like a vibrant and colourful platformer, Scarygirl also features co-operative gameplay, allowing a second player to help Scarygirl out as Bunniguru which makes it another local co-op game for 2012.

Scarygirl is seeing release via the Xbox Live Arcade on January 18th and will be arriving shortly after on the Playstation 3 and PC, so keep an eye out.
