Bringing Americana to the EXTREME

2K have announced that in a partnership with NVIDIA, they will be bringing PhysX technology to all versions of Mafia II, however the Windows PC version will be featuring a few extras, making it the first ever Windows game to make use of the APEX clothing module, providing an immersive experience in the world of 1940s and 1950s America.

Through the integration of PhysX and NVIDIA’s APEX technology, the city and personality of Empire Bay will literally come alive on Windows; the APEX clothing module will allow for more dynamic movement in clothing, and the APEX particles will put players in lifelike explosions that are bigger and brighter than ever before, and will include in-game debris and destructible environments that will be amplified by the integration of APEX particles. You only need watch the newest trailer to see what we mean.

Mafia II will also be playable in full stereoscopic 3D for Windows, courtesy of NVIDIA’s 3D vision technology, that will create an impressive element of authenticity and immersive realism, through its added depth of field in thrilling 3D.

This is perhaps the most exciting announcement for the upcoming 2K Czech game since it was announced, and means that Mafia II will be an even bigger experience than we thought it could ever be. Mafia II will be available internationally on August 27th 2010 for Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and Windows.
