Wondering if Civilization V will run on your computer?

With the recent announcement of a demo becoming available for Civilization V in the near future, along with a whole host of other announcements which are specific to gameplay, the system requirements have also now become available which are as follows:

Memory: 4 GB RAM
Hard Disk Space: 8 GB Free
DVD-ROM Drive: Required for disc-based installation
Video: 512 MB ATI 4800 series or better, 512 MB nVidia 9800 series or better
Sound: DirectX 9.0c-compatible sound card
DirectX: DirectX version 11

Other Requirements: Initial installation requires one-time Internet connection for Steam authentication; software installations required (included with the game) include Steam Client, Microsoft Visual C++2008 Runtime Libraries and Microsoft DirectX.

The announcement of a demo for Civ V was posted in the community section, informing fans that there will be a demo at some point before the release of Civilization V on September 24th (September 21st for North America) also don't forget there's a collector's edition coming out.
