Officially announced by Viacom President and CEO Philippe Dauman Rock Band 3, is set for release this winter. Devloped once again by Harmonix, and published by Electronic Arts and MTV, the fourth title in the series is set to revolutionise the genre; hopefully where its previous titles have not.

Looking at the accomplishments that games in the genre have made in the past it will be intriguing to see what Harmonix have in mind for this innovation, only time will tell.

High Definition gamers and Formula One fans alike have been waiting for a solid date for years since F1 Championship Edition on the PS3 was released, that day is here.

F1 2010 will not only be the first ever Official Formula One title on the Microsoft platform, it will be the first time in almost a decade that it has been brought to the PC. F1 2010 is set for a September launch and will feature all the official teams, drivers and circuits for this coming season, including Michael Schumacher’s return and the brand new Korean circuit; which will see players that buy the game on release actually testing the circuit before the drivers are set to race it on the 24th October.

The game is in production at Codemasters’ studio in Birmingham, using the EGO Game Technology Platform that they are also utilising to make the upcoming Bodycount. They have also tweaked the engine slightly to recreate the aerodynamics and handling required of Formula One driver.

F1 2010 will feature all the standard game modes that encompass the series including; Grand Prix, Championship, Time Trial and as always the ever loved Career Mode, we’re also promised a highly advanced damage model with a fully dynamic weather system, whether these two combined will be a good thing for inexperienced players is another story entirely. Codemasters also have unprecedented access to the teams and drivers which puts this at being possibly the most accurate and exciting Formula One game to be released ever!

Codemasters have confirmed Bodycount as a new IP in production at their studio in Guildford, Surrey. Hailed as the first-person shooter set to re-define the genre. The team is being led by Creative Director Stuart Black (Designer of Black, 2006) who is overseeing the development on Xbox360 and PS3.

Bodycount is being developed using the EGO Game Technology Platform, which will allow the designers at Codemasters to create cutting edge graphics, as well as powerful AI and advanced physics systems. EGO is the engine that they used to make Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising, the upcoming F1 2010 and the Colin McRae Dirt series.

Executive Producer Tom Gillo promises great things of Bodycount with, “jaw-dropping devastation", and described it as a, "sensory overload of action.”

Bodycount is set to boast a wide selection of contemporary weapons that, coupled with Codemaster’s new shredding tech, will blow your mind away with a different kind of gameplay, where no one player or enemy is safe, and the environment simply acts as a canvas for destruction, constantly changing dependant on the amount of bullets you dispense.

Bodycount will be one of the first internally produced IP's that the Guildford studio has worked on in years. But Gavin Cheshire, Vice President of Codemasters asserts that Bodycount will “deliver a fresh FPS experience powered by intense combat, compelling narrative, advanced AI and engaging online multiplayer game modes.”

You can find out more on Bodycount in this month’s Official Playstation Magazine that will be running a feature on its announcement, this will be on sale March 16th

You can look forwards to its release during the first quarter of 2011, because explosive environments are always fun!

The 10th and final contender in Super Street Fighter IV has now finally been officially announced.

Introducing Hakan

He's an extremely interesting looking character, his name is Hakan and he's a Turkish wrestler, his technique is amazing, he oils himself up during fights and uses it as a huge advantage, making his opponents slip and slide all over the place.

Hakan

As you can tell, he's a large character much like Zangief and Abel, however he's much faster, thanks to his slippery oil, which allows him being able to slide across the floor on his belly, making him a more agile large character.

Hakan

Thanks to IGN for the pictures!

All I can say is Hakan has got me wanting to play Super Street Fighter IV!

It is something that has always been promised in every MMOG ever made, genre defining traits; the ability to change the world around you, each mission you take changing the balance of the universe in which you play but it never delivers. However Bluehole Studios (based in South Korea) promise to fulfil this dream, as the first details of the eagerly anticipated genre-defining Action MMOG TERA are unveiled.

TERA is what players of MMOG’s have always dreamed of, CEO of En Masse claims that "Players can go beyond factions and static storylines to write the history of TERA in real time as six races learn to work together."

TERA promises that an individual’s actions can transform the balance of power in an unstable world, and players are set to control the impact on both the economy as well as the community environment in the lush, stunning world of Arborea. You will be able to battle as one of eight different classes; Archer, Beserker, Lancer, Mystic, Preist, Slayer, Sorcerer and the ever hardy Warrior. The six races are also slightly different from your average fantasy MMOG, aside from Human’s and High Elves, there are the Popori; fierce animal guardians which remind you that the game is Korean, and the Baraka; sheer giants in regards to the other races.

With the promise of quests in the thousands, as well as hundreds of different monsters, En Masse also guarantee spectacular graphics and animation, something more than a few MMOG’s could stand to have. TERA has pledged to go beyond the stereotyped rules of the MMOG, set to feature a dynamic, almost console-like combat system, reaching beyond the traditional MMO point-and-click style of attack, and suitably so, game controllers will be supported at the launch of the game.

Tera is seeing release in Korea this summer, whereas Western markets are being promised the game this winter.
