After the 2011 edition sold over 500,000 copies in France and Germany alone, the Farming Simulator series from GIANTS Software is one of the most successful non-train related simulators in the world, the game is a big deal at Gamescom every year, and at their booth was a taste of Farming Simulator 2013 the newest game in the series, so what did they have to show for?
Unfortunately Gamescom did not bury us in a flurry of new additions to this year’s release, however the new teaser trailer does show off a few of the new impressive machinery on offer including Case IH, Amazone and the ridiculously transformer-ish Grimme harvester, not to mention the tweaks the graphics engine has received and a glimpse at the new map.
With all the ingredients that make keeping a virtual farm alluring, 2013 will incorporate new machines, vehicles, crops, animals and environments across a beautiful single player experience, and the complete online mode that allows up to 10 users to farm at once, Farming Simulator 2013 also gives players the chance to create, download and share their mods, vehicles and equipment directly integrated into the game for the first time.
Farming Simulator 2013 is scheduled for a release October 2012 for Windows PC, and for the first time is coming to the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 in Q1 of 2013.
